MISA CARES enables employees to devote one paid workday every year to volunteering at the community organizations they choose.Below some of our employees share their experiences volunteering through our program.
On March 21st, Chris Baek, Roger Barisdale, EJ Choi, Maiko Fukaya, Maria Galati, Chie Hikasa, Valerie Huynh, Masakazu Kanamaru, Peter Maguire, Shin Matsunaga, Masako Mukai, Mai Noguchi and Vivian Rutherford of the Los Angeles Branch, particpated in a project to clean up Griffith Park.Griffith Park is the largest city park in Los Angeles. The Griffith Observatory has been a major Los Angeles landmark since 1935. It has been visited by nearly two million people each year and ranked as one of the top tourist attractions of Southern California. It sits on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood where it commands a stunning view of the Los Angeles basin.
Our task was to cut away branches and twigs that were obstructing the streets. The work was hard but we enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors, doing our part to make our city a bit more beautiful. At the end of the day we were all proud of our efforts and could see the improvement!
